Consortium for Development Policy Research (CDPR) hosted its twenty-first Lahore Policy Exchange talk on “Getting to English through the mother-tongue.” In his book, Dr. Ishrat Husain (former Governor State Bank of Pakistan and former Dean, Institute of Business Administration, Karachi) argues that Pakistan’s lackluster economic growth in the last 25 years is rooted in institutional decay and makes the case for governance reform. The panel discussing the book comprised: 1) Dr. Ishrat Husain 2) Dr. Ali Cheema (renowned economist and CDPR Board Member) 3) Dr. Naved Hamid (Professor of Economics, Lahore School of Economics) Dr. Ijaz Nabi moderated the session.
